What do they need?
1. A lending hand; help them with what you can. This can be cash, material resources or assistance with task.
2. An understanding of what they are going through; know what is the cause of their problems and make them know that you understand it.
3. Do not share their problems with others except they permit you to share it.
4. Practical and related advise that is free of ridicule
5. Visit them and keep them company if you are living close to them.
6. Understand their effort; they love it when you know what effort they are putting in to improve their situation. They get upset when you talk to them without acknowledging what they are doing to get help.
7. Pray for them; if you can't offer the above help, just help them pray.
